After triumphing on stage and television, Quebec's most inimitable comedy duo is now pursuing their career in film. Two actors, as poor as they are hilarious, are struggling with their lives as artists when chance suddenly makes them millionaires. They finally realize their dream by buying a theatre where they present a farcical version of Corneille's Le Cid. However, their new acquaintances threaten to destroy their friendship by pitting them against each other. Unable to live as rivals, the two actors reconcile and find their path and their audience, becoming the comedy duo Ding and Dong.
