Antoine, a troubled 14-year-old, spends the day with his mentor. One last time before the latter leaves for Russia, the two "brothers" goof around the city streets, making the most of their final day together.

Rémi St-Michel discovers theatre and cinema at François-Xavier Garneau college in Quebec city. In 2010, he directs his first short film Marshmallow which have a respectable festival run and opens him the doors of the cinema program at the University of Quebec in Montreal. For his final studies project, he co-writes and directs The Deer, which wins many prizes around the globe. Encouraged by this success, he goes on with a new short, Little Brother, that world premieres at the Cannes Critic's Week in 2014. The young man from Beauport as many other projects in his head and is actually writing his first feature film with the help of institutions.

A historical epic depicting the final moments in the life of Andrew Mynarski, a Second World War hero from Winnipeg. A surreal hybrid inspired by the melodramas of Howard Hughes, the silhouette animation of Lotte Reiniger, and 21,000 chemically distressed and hand-painted 35 mm frames, Mynarski embraces the obsolete formalism of photochemical cinema to create a hallucinatory journey exploring sacrifice, immortality, and jellyfish.

MATTHEW RANKIN studied Québec history at McGill University and Université Laval before burrowing into the artistic underclass of his native Winnipeg to become a maker of art films.Working in video and photo-chemical hybrids of documentary, experimental drama and animated abstraction, Matthew’s films have been the object of both international acclaim and outraged corporate attack. An alumnus of the Sundance Film Festival, Matthew was a 2013 artist-in-residence at the McDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and is the first Winnipegger in film history to be nominated for Québec’s coveted Jutra award. Matthew works in French, English and, increasingly, Esperanto.

Screenwriter and director, Chloe Robichaud was already at her second participation in Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival with her first feature Sarah Prefers to Run (2013). Her short Herd Leader (2012) had competed for the Palme d’Or the year before. Chloe Robichaud is also the creator of the Feminin / Feminin series, which had a strong international following since its launch in 2014. Then, she presented her films Boundaries (2016) and Days of Happiness (2023), both of which had their world premiere at TIFF. It was also at TIFF that she won Best Canadian Short Film for Delphine (2019), previously launched in Official Competition at the Venice Film Festival. Chloé is also involved in directing successful TV series such as TROP, and more recently Transplant and Law and Order Toronto Criminal Intent.Chloe Robichaud will present her fourth feature film Two Women, an adaptation of the play by Catherine Léger. The film premiered in the Official competition at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award. The film received multiple nominations for the 2025 Quebec Cinema Gala, including Best Director for Chloe.

VFX Supervisor Arnaud Brisebois has built an impressive career in visual effects over the past 15 years, working as a matte painter, concept artist, art director, and VFX supervisor.More recently, Arnaud supervised the visual effects for two critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series, Silo and Foundation. The latter, based on Isaac Asimov’s iconic books, gave him a key role in shaping the show’s groundbreaking visual language.
He also brought his exceptional visual artistry to the 2022 film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and has contributed to the franchise since its first installment in 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 89th Academy Awards.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, on which Arnaud’s team contributed, won an Animago Award in 2019 for Best Visual Effects. He also worked on the visual-effects masterpiece Arrival.

Francis Leclerc
Francis Leclerc was born in Quebec City in 1971. While studying communications, he developed an interest in cinema and, during the 1990s, directed more than 20 short and medium-length films, as well as around fifty music videos.To date, he has directed six feature films: A Girl at the Window (2001), Memories of a Murder (2004), A Summer Without a Point or a Punch (2008), Barefoot at Dawn (2017), The Time Thief (2021), and The Diver (2023).
At the same time, he has directed several advertising campaigns and numerous television series, including Les Rescapés, Apparences, Les Beaux Malaises, and Marche à l’ombre.
He is currently preparing a feature-film adaptation of another tale by Fred Pellerin, De peigne et de misère, as well as Ici la Terre, a more intimate film written by François Bernier, which is expected to be his next feature film.

Patrick Bouchard
Born in Québec City in 1974 and raised in Saguenay, Patrick Bouchard studied at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, where he created his first puppet film, Jean Leviériste (1998), as part of the interdisciplinary bachelor’s program in arts. He won the Jutra Award for Best Animated Short Film for his first professional film, Les ramoneurs cérébraux (2002), a work that offers both a humorous and dark portrayal of the struggles endured by a musician with an overflowing imagination. Inspired by a song by the band Les Colocs, Dehors novembre, completed in 2005, was also honored at the Jutras and presented in competition at Annecy.Patrick Bouchard continued with a third puppet film, Révérence (2007), in which he depicts a society doomed by the selfishness of the bourgeoisie and the blind passivity of their servants. In 2007, at the Off-Courts Festival in Trouville, he created Talon d’argile in 24 hours—a very short film in which clay figures undergo a series of transformations. This experience became the foundation for Bydlo (2012), which was selected for TIFF and Annecy and earned him his third Jutra Award for Best Animated Short Film. The film also received numerous festival awards, notably at Clermont-Ferrand and the Fantasia International Film Festival.

Born in Bulgaria, Theodore Ushev is graduted from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. He came to stay in Montreal in 1999, where acheived prolific career as animation filmmaker with films like L’homme qui attendait (2006) et Tzaritza (2006). She has received notable roles in films directed by Denys Arcand and Anne Émond. In 2010, she got better known thanks to her character in Les Amours imaginaires, directed by Xavier Dolan. An Extraordinary Person is her first short film as a scriptwriter and filmmaker.
