Caught in the crossfire of their parents’ divorce, Nina and Eli retreat into their own worlds, torn between loyalty, anger and longing to be seen. Through their mirrored eyes, the same story unfolds from two perspectives, revealing how love can fracture and still find its way home.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Nathalie Parent, a psychologist, and Thy Hang, development and outreach officer at the Fondation Jeunes en Tête.

Mees Peijnenburg

Mees Peijnenburg, a Paris based director, is celebrated as one of biggest filmmaking talents to emerge from the Netherlands in recent years. Born in Tokyo in 1989, he studied at the European Film College in Denmark and graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2013. Mees was twice nominated for a Crystal Bear at the Berlinale, Berlin Film Festival, for his short films A Hole in my Heart and Even Cowboys Get to Cry. The films traveled all around the world to numerous film festivals, winning over 50+ awards.?In 2016, he received the prestigious Dutch Directors’ Guild Award for A Hole in my Heart, awarded annually for the most remarkable directing performance of the year, and represented the Netherlands at the Academy Awards in the same year.
