A house bird named Char watches longingly the lives of its fellow birds through the window. Suddenly, in the reflection of the glass, a strange metaphorical bird appears—a kind of imagined double named Apollo—who invites Char to follow him into a magical dance. Together, they embark on a journey to discover the outside world, as well as the infinite landscapes of Char’s inner worlds.
Héloïse Dorsan-Rachet
Héloïse Dorsan-Rachet is an artist specializing in animation as a director and illustrator.A graduate in animated image from the Georges Méliès School, Héloïse has dedicated herself to animated film since 2017, exploring themes that are close to her heart: ecology, social justice, the relationship between music and image, and the artistic creative process.
Within the animation field, she actively collaborates with numerous organizations and has already directed several documentary feature films, as well as animated series and institutional and educational projects.

I discovered animation in 2021 during an internship at La Cambre, where I made my firstanimated short. After that experience, I decided to make animation my career, because it
brings together my passion for creation, cinema and writing. I officially returned to La Cambre
in 2022 and made my first short film the same year, specialising in Stop-Motion. Bobel's
Kitchen is my second short film entirely in stop-motion. I decided to adopt a children's film style,
because I like the idea of creating works for all audiences.

Deep in the jungle, everything seems to follow its usual course — until one night a
lantern lights up, throwing the animals into chaos. Countless insects cannot resist;
they are magically drawn to the glow and fall into a strange trance.
Disturbed by the unusual activity, a family of bats awakens. While the adult bats use
the bright spectacle for hunting, the little bat rescues a firefly, a fly, and a moth.
The next evening, the lantern lights up again, and the young bat tries everything to
protect the insects from the spell of the dangerous light. In the process, it gets hurt —
but the small creatures immediately come to its aid. What a lucky turn of events!
Lena Von Dohren
Lena von Döhren, born in Berlin in 1981, grew up with three brothers. After graduatingfrom high school, she traveled around the world for two years and then studied
Audiovisual Communication in Amsterdam, as well as Animation at the Lucerne
University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Her graduation film “The Little Bird and the
Leaf” premiered at the Berlinale in 2012, followed by three subsequent films featuring
the Little Bird, and most recently the film “Tümpel” (co-directed with Eva Rust) in 2023.
With her imaginative and poetic films for children, she also captivates adults and has
received more than 30 awards worldwide, including the Golden Sparrow Award.

In the following years she illustrated for many kids’ D magazines and several children’s books for publishing houses in Russia, Germany, Taiwan and South Korea. In 2015 she graduated at the renowned Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Since then she works as a director, animator and designer based in Stuttgart.

His wide experience has enabled him to carry out a great variety of animation projects that combine traditional graphics with the latest technology.
